Lock Haven Welcomes New Vascular Surgeon
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Administration of Lock Haven Hospital, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Mohammed Islam will open his practice in General/Vascular/Endovascular Surgery at the McElhattan Outlet Court Mall, Suite 3 on April 1, 2009.
Dr. Islam received his medical education from University of Chittagong, Sylhet Medical College, Bangledesh. He received his post graduate training in general surgery from New York Methodist Hospital, affiliated with Weil Cornell Medical College. Dr. Islam also received post-doctoral clinical fellowship training in vascular/endovascular surgery from the Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix , Arizona and post-doctoral clinical fellowship training in cardiovascular surgery from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston , Texas.
Dr. Islam is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. He also is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Islam served as the Chief of the Vascular Surgery Division at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and also served as an attending physician in the Vascular Trauma Service at Brookdale University Hospital, in Brooklyn, New York affiliated with SUNY Downstate.
Dr. Islam will be available for scheduled office appointments and hospital consultations and will offer full spectrum services in General, Laparoscopic, Vascular and Endovascular surgery.
Appointments are now being scheduled. Haven Surgical Associates office hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
