Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care hosted trick or treat night on Oct, 24, 2008.   Children of resident families and children of hospital employees were invited to an old fashioned Halloween party.  The ghouls and goblins and many cartoon character look-a-likes paraded down the halls and visited individual resident rooms stumping for treats.  In an effort to bridge the generation gaps, many of the residents got into the spirit of the evening by donning costumes of their own and handed out loads of goodies.

The happy trick- or- treaters were invited to share in a post event party held in the Extended Care Activity Room.  Halloween themed drinks, cookies, and snacks were provided.

To enhance safety this Halloween, the Hospital’s Employee Activity Committee distributed pumpkin flashlights to each child in attendance.

Members of the Lock Haven University Therapeutic Recreation club volunteered to lead children through the resident wings.  Kitty Oechler, Director of Therapeutic recreation, noted after the event, “The Extended Care residents look forward to this event annually to connect with children.”
