Lock Haven Hospital Recognizes Chris Wheary

Lock Haven, PA. Dec. 22nd, 2008 –

Chris Weary was recognized as Lock Haven Hospital’s Employee of the Month for October 2008.  Michelle Mader, Director of Laboratory Services, presented Chris with the Employee of the Month Award acknowledging her efforts to ensure timely and accurate lab results for the patients of Lock Haven Hospital and the residents in the Extended Care Unit.  Mader noted, “Chris is a team player who is always willing to go the extra mile to help others.  She is very deserving of the recognition. Her dedication to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency sets the bar for the highest quality of care.
Chris is a Medical Technologist certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.  She has been a technologist for 17 years and has worked with the Lock Haven Hospital Laboratory for the last three years.  Chris is a generalist in the main lab and is cross trained in the microbiology department.  She recently completed training courses in Florida on new instrumentation being implemented in the lab."

Nominations for the Employee of the Month are reviewed monthly and the review committee selects a recipient with attention to excellence and a commitment to quality care and customer service.  Employees earning the recognition receive a Hospital Achievement Award and gift certificates from local merchants.  Winners are automatically eligible for the employee of the year Award.
