Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Joins Haven Healthcare for Women

Lock Haven, PA.  March 24, 2009 –

Linda Shorey, C.R.N.P. ,Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner has joined the Haven Healthcare for Women staff to expand the gynecological service line and support the overall women’s health program.  Ms. Shorey has nearly 30 years of clinical experience and has extensive training in gynecology and obstetrics procedures.  Her educational background includes training at Penn State University,  University of Texas, and as a Nurse Practitioner in the United States Air Force.  Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners offer personalized gentle care for patients concerning all aspects of women’s health. Prior to joining the Lock Haven Hospital Staff, Linda worked the past 10 years at the Penn State Student Health Service System at University Park, PA.

Linda will work with Dr. Nicholas Viyuoh, Board Certified OB/Gyn, and will be available to see patients of all ages for a wide variety of gynecological needs associated with annual exams, gynecological screenings, family planning, and pre-natal care.  New patients are being accepted and will be seen at the Haven Healthcare for Women located on the third floor in Lock Haven Hospital. Ms. Shorey is retired from the United States Air Force in 1996 and is a member of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology with expertise in performing diagnostic evaluations of women with abnormal pap smears.

Linda originally is from State College and now lives in Mill Hall with her husband.  In her leisure time she is interested in music and gardening.  She spends much of her spare time with her several animals including two dogs, two cats, and two horses.
