Lock Haven Hospital Recognizes Marie Barta as Employee of the Month

Lock Haven, PA – Marie Barta was recognized as Lock Haven Hospital’s Employee of the Month for August. Kitty Oechler presented Barta with the Employee of the Month Award acknowledging her efforts to facilitate and supervise activities with the residents. Kitty states, “Marie does a wonderful job with the residents keeping them engaged in recreational activities and does so many extras for them.  She is recognized as the concierge for the Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit.”

Marie has worked at Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit for a year and a half as a therapeutic recreation assistant.  Her daily duties include facilitating and supervising activities with the residents. Marie stated, “I feel very fortunate to be able to work with the residents they are like a second family to me.  I like to make it fun for the residents and staff.”
Nominations for the Employee of the Month are reviewed monthly and the review committee selects a recipient with attention to excellence and a commitment to quality care and customer service.  Employees earning the recognition also receive a hospital garment, and a gift card to a local establishment, and are automatically eligible for the Employee of the Year Award.
