Medical Director Named to Lock Haven Hospital ER
Lock Haven (PA) – Dr. Jerome Ellis has been appointed Medical Director of Lock Haven Hospital’s Emergency Department, hospital CEO Cindy Segar-Miller announced today.
Dr. Ellis is board-certified in two specialties -- both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. “To be board-certified in the care of both adults and children required a particularly rigorous residency,” Segar-Miller said. “Dr. Ellis has exceptional training and experience, and we’re thrilled that he has accepted the key role of Medical Director in our Emergency Department.”
Originally a native of the Harrisburg area, Dr. Ellis attended Northeastern University in Boston, where he graduated summa cum laude. He obtained his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1995 and was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his medical training in residency at the prestigious University of Rochester program.
“I’m excited for this opportunity,” Dr. Ellis said. “The Emergency Department here has a tremendous record for quick patient turnaround, and providing excellent medical care. The challenge now is to build on those strengths and continue to grow our patient services.”
Dr. Ellis recently attended the national meeting of the American College of Emergency Physicians, seeking ways to bring advances in patient care here to Lock Haven.
