Peter Campbell Joins Lock Haven Hospital Board of Trustees

 

Lock Haven, PA.  May, 27th, 2009 –

Peter Campbell, Associate Athletic Director of Lock Haven University has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of Lock Haven Hospital.  Mr. Campbell began his two year term on May 18th, 2009.  The Lock Haven Hospital Board of Trustees represents a cross-section of business leaders from all areas of Clinton County Industries.  Duties of the Board of Trustees include policy review and compliance, strategic planning, physician recruitment, and oversight of quality measures.

David Gundy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Cindy Segar-Miller, CEO of Lock Haven Hospital welcomed the newest board member at the most recent meeting.  “Peter’s experience and vast background on many competitive fronts will add great benefit to the boards function and aid in Lock Haven Hospital reaching the goals and performance levels to better serve the residents of Clinton County.” noted Mrs. Miller.

Mr. Campbell earned a legal degree in 1995 from Cleveland Marshall College of Law.  He has worked at Lock Haven University since 1999.  As the Head Coach of the women’s soccer program, he led the team to consecutive PSAC Championships and NCAA tournament appearances.  Peter moved on to the position of Assistant Director of Athletics in January 2001 and assumed the Associate Athletic Director duties in August 2002.  At the national level he has served as the Chair of the NCAA Division II women’s soccer committee from 2006-2008 and served on the committee from 2003.

Peter played soccer for Gannon University and contributed to two final four Division II championship appearances.  His professional playing experience includes playing for the Larne Football Club in the Irish League and the St. Catherine’s Roma Club in the Canadian National Soccer League.

Peter believes “it is important that Lock Haven Hospital continues to be a strong and vital part of the local community providing quality health services to residents and students.”

Peter and his wife Rosana, who is assistant director of international studies at Lock Haven University, live in Lock Haven and are expecting their first child this fall.
