Lock Haven Hospital Doctor Earns Board Certification 

Maria Bermudez, M.D. earns nephrology board certification 

Lock Haven, PA – Lock Haven Hospital is proud to announce that Maria Bermudez, M.D., has earned board certification in nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Nephrology concerns the diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases by regulating blood pressure, balancing electrolytes and fluids, and renal replacement therapy.

“Understanding the connection between kidney disease and diseases like hypertension, diabetes, obesity and heart disease is becoming a major focus in health care,” Said Cindy Segar-Miller, chief executive officer, Lock Haven Hospital. “Dr. Bermudez earning board certification in nephrology helps us to raise the bar in delivering quality care to the Lock Haven community.

Dr. Bermudez served her internal medicine residency at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA and completed a fellowship in nephrology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, New York, NY. Bermudez previously earned board certification in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
