Dr. Mohammed Islam Signs Contract Extension 

General and vascular surgeon to continue to serve community 

Lock Haven, PA – Lock Haven Hospital and Haven Surgical Associates is proud to announce the Mohammed Islam, MD, general and vascular surgeon has signed a new multi-year contract extension, signifying his long term commitment to the community.

“We are very excited to complete a contract extension with Dr. Islam and to be able to continue to have a skilled, compassionate and experienced physician to serve the surgical needs of the Lock Haven Community,” said Cindy Segar-Miller, chief executive officer, Lock Haven Hospital.

Dr. Islam received his medical education from University of Chittagong, Sylhet Medical College, Bangledesh.  He received his post graduate training in general surgery from New York Methodist Hospital, affiliated with Weil Cornell Medical College.  Dr. Islam served a clinical fellowship in vascular/endovascular surgery at the Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix and a clinical fellowship in cardiovascular surgery from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

Islam is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Prior to joining Lock Haven Hospital, Dr. Islam served as the Chief of the Vascular Surgery Division at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and also served as an attending physician in the Vascular Trauma Service at Brookdale University Hospital, in Brooklyn.
