Lock Haven Hospital celebrates national doctors’ day

Lock Haven, PA —One of our most important relationships – other than family and friends – is with our doctor. Doctors are the gatekeepers to our health: in addition to providing preventive care and disease management, they serve as educators, researchers and advocates for good habits and healthy lifestyles.  Lock Haven Hospital honored members of its medical staff in luncheon celebration of Doctors’ Day.

National Doctors’ Day annually recognizes the contributions of doctors around the country for their role in healing, patient safety, medical research and advances, and respect for human life and individual dignity.

Lock Haven Hospital has 123 credentialed physicians in more than 24 specialty areas, including: general and vascular surgery, full spectrum orthopedics, nephrology, oncology/hematology, women’s services and pain management.  “One of the key factors in a strong and vibrant community is quality medical care,” says Cindy Segar-Miller, chief executive officer, Lock Haven Hospital. “Lock Haven Hospital’s physicians represent a broad range of medical expertise, right here, in the Lock Haven community.”

Lock Haven Hospital staffers were asked to honor physicians by voting in a number of categories for the annual Doctor’s Day Awards. The ballots were tabulated and staffers selected:

• Doctor of the Year - Bharat Adroja, MD
• Most Compassionate/Best Bedside Manner- Maria Bermudez, MD
• Best In an Emergency – David Gingrich, MD
• Best Documentation/Best Handwriting - Bharat Adroja, MD
• Most Respectful to Staff - Maria Bermudez, MD
