Lock Haven Hospital Salutes 100% Core Measures Club
Performance standards set by Joint Commission
Lock Haven, PA – Lock Haven Hospital is proud to announce that thirteen physicians achieved 100% Core Measures Club status at the facility in the first quarter of 2011.
The Joint Commission developed a series of performance measurement standards in 1987, in a variety of practice areas including: Emergency Department, In-Patient and Surgical among others. National experts in healthcare identified a set of criteria in key areas that determine if the care given in hospitals is appropriate, timely and preventive.
Emergency Department
Four Lock Haven Hospital emergency room physicians achieved 100% Core Measures status in the first quarter of 2011. They are: Jerome Ellis, M.D., David Gingrich, M.D., Daniel Coachi, M.D. and Hinda Greene, D.O.
In-Patient
Four Lock Haven Hospital doctors achieved 100% Core Measures status in the In-Patient category, in the fourth quarter of 2010 including: Faryal Afzal, M.D., Dennis Probst, D.O., Pravin Chapla, M.D., and Jeffrey Eaton, M.D.
Surgical
Five Lock Haven Hospital surgeons achieved 100% Core Measures Club status in the first quarter of 2011 including; Apostolos Dimitroullias, M.D., Mohammed Islam, M.D., John Kennedy, M.D., Sarla Kapoor, M.D. and Sang Choi, M.D.
Evidence-based Medicine
The Joint Commission utilized evidence-based medicine to determine that by meeting a series of specific treatment guidelines, there was an improvement in patient outcomes.
