Lock Haven Hospital Names Community Cares Director 

Programs goal is improved patient, physician and employee satisfaction 

Lock Haven, PA – Lock Haven Hospital has announced that Jeffrey Johns the hospital’s Marketing and Public Relations Director has added the title of Director, Community Cares for the hospital.

Community Cares is the hospital’s program dedicated to building a culture of service and operational excellence; to improve patient, physician, and employee satisfaction. The program includes: hourly rounding on patients, emergency room discharge callback program, and the five pillars of operational excellence; service, quality, people, finance, and growth.

“Jeff has been involved with helping to develop our emergency room 30 minute time commitment pledge and to communicate our ongoing commitment delivering quality care to the Lock Haven community,” said Cindy Segar-Miller, chief executive officer, Lock Haven Hospital. “It is a natural progression that he would take the reins of Community Cares, to continue to communicate that message both internally to employees and physicians as well as to the community we serve.”

Johns has been a professional communicator for over 25 years, serving as the Director of Marketing & Communications for the NBA Development League, Erie BayHawks prior to joining LHH. Johns also served as the Director of Communications for the Manufacturer’s Association of Northwest Pennsylvania and spent ten years as the Program Director and morning talk show host for WJET Radio, in Erie, PA.

Johns was also recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Lock Haven Downtown. He is a graduate of Medaille College, Buffalo, New York, with a bachelor of science degree in Media Communications.
