Lock Haven Hospital Welcomes Ahmad Ahad, M. D. 

General surgeon join Haven Surgical Associates 

Lock Haven, PA – Lock Haven Hospital and Haven Surgical associates is proud to announce the addition of general surgeon, Ahmad Ahad, M.D.

Dr. Ahad is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery and recently completed his fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery at the University of Texas Science Center, Houston, Texas. Dr. Ahad served his general surgery residency at Providence Hospital, Southfield, Michigan. While at Providence Hospital, Dr. Ahad also completed a research fellowship in craniofacial, plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Ahad earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan.

“With Dr. Ahad’s arrival, we continue the process of growth and quality improvement of the services we provide,” said John Zidansek, Chief Executive Officer, Lock Haven Hospital. “Dr. Ahad’s fellowship training in laparoscopic surgery will make him a valuable addition to Lock Haven Hospital and to the community.”

Laparoscopic surgery, is a minimally invasive surgical technique in which operations in the abdomen are performed through small incisions as compared to the larger incisions needed in more traditional forms of surgery.

Lock Haven Hospital is a 47-bed facility with an additional 90 long-term care beds, and is fully accredited by The Joint Commission. With more than 40 medical staff members, specialties include cardiology, otolaryngology, family practice, general surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, internal medicine, pain management, nephrology, ophthalmology, orthopedics and pediatrics. The hospital offers a full range of services including 24-hour emergency care, a birthing center, diagnostic imaging, physical/occupational/speech therapy, outpatient surgery, sleep studies and more.
