Lock Haven Hospital to Host Gallery of Hope Display
Features Clinton County honoree from Lock Haven
Lock Haven, PA – Lock Haven Hospital will play host to the Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania Gallery of Hope, in the hospital lobby, April 11- 15.
The Gallery of Hope, created by Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania in 2000, is a traveling display designed to educate the public about the importance of early detection and treatment in the fight against breast cancer. The traveling gallery is displayed at community events, healthcare provider locations and other locations across the Blue Cross 13 county service area.
“Early detection of breast cancer is critical to saving lives,” said Cindy Segar-Miller, chief executive officer, Lock Haven Hospital. “The Gallery of Hope is a positive way to reinforce that message through not only education but the moving stories of the survivors.”
The 2011 Gallery of Hope profiles 10 survivors representing 8 of the 13 counties in northeastern and north central Pennsylvania including Clinton County. This year’s Clinton County honoree is Karen Chapman of Lock Haven, PA. A mother and grandmother, Chapman is beast cancer survivor and has been cancer free since 2001.
